Chevy 3500 Van Camper Build
Wedding Gift
I helped my friend Riley build out his retired Butte County correctional facilities van into a rig fit for a honeymoon. It was a great project and an awesome reason to spend some quality time with an old friend.

He stripped the seats, insulated the floor, walls, ceiling, and cut out the new skylight. I mainly stuck to the cabinets. It was a great couple of weeks and the finished product was very cozy.

We were challenged by the lack of structural members to secure things to, but only punctured the roof a couple times. He used rigid foam on the ceiling between the structural bats, and to hold it up and act as a backer we screwed 1/2" OSB to the ceiling. After this attaching the cedar was easy.

All the cabinets were made with 3/4" maple ply and had face frames made of pine.
